Health and Community Services in Jersey is an dynamic Consultant Physician who specializes in Respiratory Medicine. This full-time, permanent position offers an opportunity to join a growing team of eight Consultant Physicians, providing comprehensive respiratory services and supporting general medical inpatients. The role includes inpatient ward commitments, diagnostic bronchoscopy services, and participation in acute unselected medicine on-call duties.
Principal Duties
Inpatient Care: Depending on ward assignment, act as the designated treating consultant for 13–18 inpatients.

Team Leadership: Supervise a multidisciplinary team, including a middle-graded doctor, clinical fellow, and foundation year doctor.
Specialist Input: Provide respiratory medicine consultations to other wards upon request.
Clinical Expertise: Offer diagnostic bronchoscopy services and expert respiratory opinions.
On-Call Duties: Participate in acute unselected medicine on-call rota.
Management & Audit: Engage in management activities, audits, and support the Governance agenda.
Essential:
Primary Medical Degree.
Full registration and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a current license to practice.
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine, or within six months of award by the date of interview.
Higher Specialty qualification: MRCP & FRCPath or equivalent.
Relevant experience at a Consultant level in a similar setting.
Trained in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS).
Leadership abilities in handling healthcare service transformation.
Knowledge of bronchoscopy, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and non-invasive ventilation (NIV).
Desirable:
Management responsibility or leadership experience.
