Salary:
Starting pay: £41,772
Earn up to £88,872 as you progress
Bonuses: £5,000 when you earn your “Dolphins” (qualified submariner); plus monthly sea pay, retention payments, and submarine allowances

Join one of the most elite teams in the Royal Navy with this fast-track apprenticeship. You’ll get paid to study and gain hands-on engineering skills while working on submarines. Choose between becoming a Marine Engineer Submariner (MESM)—handling nuclear reactors—or a Weapon Engineer Submariner (WESM), maintaining systems like torpedoes and missiles.
Age range: 17–39 (applications accepted as early as 16½)
A Level 3 engineering diploma or STEM A-levels are required, in addition to a minimum of three GCSEs (Maths, English, and one Science).
Be a British or eligible Dual National with required fitness and security clearances
