Pay range: pro rata from £76,965 to £105,337 annually

Become a Consultant Clinical Scientist at University Hospitals Tees and become a part of our vibrant team. This position is a part of the Tees Valley Pathology Service, which is a partnership between the NHS Foundation Trusts for South Tees Hospitals and North Tees and Hartlepool. With possible duties at all locations, your primary base will be North Tees Hospital.
Service Development: Work together with medical professionals to create and execute new guidelines and protocols that improve patient care.
Technical Advice: Help laboratory employees with technical and analytical problems.
Quality Assurance: Uphold and enhance clinical chemistry’s scientific standards while making sure that UKAS ISO standards are followed.
System Upgrade: Throughout the following 12 to 18 months, take part in the replacement of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
On-Call Responsibilities: As part of the on-call schedule, provide clinical chemistry services after hours.
Point of Care Testing: Lead clinical aspects of Point of Care Testing.

Advanced clinical scientific knowledge to doctorate level or equivalent.
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a clinical scientist.
Participation in pertinent programs demonstrates Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Ability to conduct clinical audits and present findings.
Expertise in a highly specialised area of clinical science.
Leadership experience in service development beyond the department.
