About the Role

As a Royal Marines Bugler, you’ll often be the highlight at important ceremonies, parades, and public events. You can learn how to play instruments like the bugle, herald trumpet, and military side drum,  while wearing the iconic white helmet. You can also support critical operations with commandos and medical teams around the globe.

What You’ll Do

• Get training from the Royal Marines School of Music (RMSoM) by expert mentors.

• Do solo or lead groups such as the Corps of Drums at high-profile programs.

• Support operations in roles like medical logistics on deployments.

• Starting pay: £26,334 per year

Who Can Apply

• Age 16 to 32 when starting basic training (apply from 15 years 9 months)

• No qualifications required, but some musical ability helps (bugle, drum, or brass)

• Must meet Navy physical standards, be a UK/Commonwealth citizen, and be a competent swimmer
